CSX FP7A/F7B's 116, 117, 118, and 119

Long before Norfolk Southern's famous A-B-B-A set of F-units, CSX had their A-B-B-A set. The F's were originally intended for use on Roadrailers (Trailers rode on bogeys instead of flatcars) and were the last active F-units in revenue service on a Class 1 railroad. All four units came from the Seaboard System, who acquired them from Clinchfield and Nashville, Chattanooga and St. Louis railroads. In the early 1990's, the F's were repainted into CSX YN2 "Bright Future" scheme and were used in Excursion and Business specials. 

The F-units were all retired in the mid-1990's and replaced by ex-Amtrak F40PH. The F40's are still in service today.

CSX 116:
116 was built in 1948 for the Clinchfield Railroad as F3A 800. She was rebuilt by Seaboard System as a F5au and renumbered 116. After the merger, she was rebuilt to FP7 specs and became CSX 116. Today she operates as C&O 8016 on the Potomac Eagle Railroad in Romney, WV.

CSX 117:
117 was built in 1950 for the Nashville, Chattanooga, and St.Louis Railroad as F7B 918. Under Seaboard System, 918 was renumbered as 117 and would keep her number into CSX. 117 is now Western Maryland 415 on the West Virginia Central in Elkins, WV.

CSX 118:
118 was built as Clinchfield FP7A 200 in 1952. She became 118 in Seaboard System and kept her number after the merge into CSX. Today 118 is Western Maryland 67 and operates on the West Virginia Central.

CSX 119:
119 was built as Nashville Chattanooga, and St.Louis F7B 919 in 1950. She became 119 for Seaboard and later CSX. Today she resides in storage on the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum as TVRM 919 and still wears CSX YN2 paint.
